Green shooting Pilot Project: TATORT

Industry initiative
TATORT: Fünf Minuten Himmel” was a 1-month pilot project aiming to produce a TV film based on ecological film-making methods launched by Ziеglеrfilm, Baden-Baden (DE), in September 2015. The team found ways to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the production in almost all areas: travel, transport, accommodation, electronic equipment, lighting and power generation, electricity consumption, waste, catering and even makeup, costumes and sets. After precisely measuring all the CO2 emissions tied to the production, the team found that these efforts reduced emissions by 42% in total. This project shows how large the impact of sustainable practices can be and paves the way for experiments on a larger scale.
